Center Fellowships

These fellowships will be awarded by the GPS Admissions to students in consultation with the center faculty.

21st Century China Center Fellowship

The center awards several fellowships, named as the 21st Century China Center Fellowship, that covers whole or partial tuition and fees for graduate studies at UC San Diego. The fellowships are used to attract the China field’s most promising students domestically and from around the world, focusing especially on students in the School of Global Policy and Strategy’s new Master of Chinese Economic and Political Affairs (MCEPA) program and Ph.D. students in political science.

Ambassador Diana Lady Dougan Fellowship in Contemporary China

This fellowship was set up in honor of Ambassador Diana Lady Dougan, who is a founder and longtime board member of the 21st Century China Center. Dougan has also mentored numerous students and young professionals throughout her distinguished career in the government, think tank and private sectors. The fellowship is awarded annually to one incoming graduate student at the School of Global Policy and Strategy or Ph.D. student specializing in contemporary China.
