Zack Cooper

Zack Cooper is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where he studies U.S. allies and strategy in Asia. Cooper also teaches at Princeton University, is a partner with Armitage International, chairs the board of the Open Technology Fund and co-hosts the “Net Assessment” podcast, which is produced for War on the Rocks, an online national security publication. He previously served at the Pentagon and the White House. He has also worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Cooper is currently writing a book that explains how militaries change during power shifts. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.P.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University.
