Meg Rithmire is the James E. Robison Professor in the business, government and international economy unit at Harvard Business School, where she has taught since 2011. She is the author of two books: “Land Bargains and Chinese Capitalism” (Cambridge, 2015), on the political economy of real estate in China, and “Precarious Ties” (Oxford, 2023), on state-business relations in authoritarian Asia. Her work on China’s politics and economy, international financial engagements and relationship with the U.S. has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, and her commentary
