Leah Hammond is an Associate Vice President in the GeoCommercial Strategy Group at The Asia Group (TAG), where she partners directly with the Chairman to drive key strategic initiatives across the firm. She advises clients on geopolitical, economic and regulatory developments across the Indo-Pacific, offering strategic insights into regional risks and opportunities.
Before joining TAG, Hammond served in a range of high-impact roles at the U.S. Department of State, including serving as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of State and serving at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, where she advanced U.S. priorities on trade, critical minerals and countering foreign interference. he served in Washington, D.C. as a Deputy Unit Chief for the Indo-Pacific within the Office of Press and Public Diplomacy, where she strengthened bilateral and multilateral partnerships across the region and led efforts to counter foreign influence operations overseas. Her leadership was instrumental in deepening U.S. collaboration with Australia, Japan and the Republic of Korea on countering foreign interference.
Hammond holds a master’s degree in International Project Management and a bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Law from the Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po Paris) and is fluent in French and proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
