Justin Muzinich is CEO of Muzinich & Co., an investment firm. From 2018 to 2021, he served as the U.S. deputy secretary of the treasury, with broad responsibility for U.S. economic policy. While deputy secretary, Justin was also responsible for the roles of undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence and undersecretary for domestic finance, managing the divisions of the Treasury that oversee national security policy and financial policy. From 2017 to 2018, Muzinich served as counselor to the secretary of the treasury and helped lead the effort to reform the U.S. tax code. And from 2015 to 2016, he was policy director for Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign.
Immediately after leaving public service, Muzinich served as a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and as a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. Before entering public service, he served as president of Muzinich and Co. and taught at Columbia Business School, and he began his career in the mergers and acquisitions group at Morgan Stanley. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, a J.D. from Yale Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Muzinich is on the boards of the Council on Foreign Relations and New York Presbyterian Hospital.
