Jeremie O. Waterman is president of the China Center at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its vice president for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mongolia. He leads the chamber’s policy advocacy and strategic initiatives across a broad range of issues, including trade and investment, innovation and intellectual property, export controls and data governance, financial services and corporate governance, agriculture, health care, and energy and environmental policy. Waterman plays a key role in shaping the chamber’s engagement with governments and businesses in the region, advancing U.S. commercial interests in complex and evolving markets and helping members to manage geopolitical risk. Prior to joining the chamber, Waterman served as director for government affairs at the U.S.-China Business Council. He also held positions at the Office of the United States Trade Representative, working in both the Congressional Affairs and Africa offices.
