Gary Rieschel is the founder and managing director of Qiming Venture Partners, a leading venture capital firm headquartered in Shanghai founded in 2006. Qiming is regarded as the leading venture investor in health care and many advanced technologies in China, and it currently has over $11 billion under management. Prior to Qiming, Rieschel created Softbank’s U.S. venture organization and held executive positions at Cisco, Sequent, and Intel. He serves on the boards of the Asia Society, the Atlantic Council (where he is co-chair with Stephen Hadley of its China Hub), the Property and Environment Research Center, the Climate Leadership Council, and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation. He received a B.A. in biology from Reed College and an M.B.A. from Harvard.
