Daniel J. Kritenbrink

Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink is a partner at The Asia Group, bringing decades of diplomatic experience. He served as assistant secretary of state for East Asia, U.S. ambassador to Vietnam and senior director at the National Security Council. Throughout his career — during which he has worked in China, Japan and Southeast Asia — he has shaped U.S. policy and advanced regional security and prosperity. He holds degrees from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and the University of Virginia, and he speaks Chinese and Japanese.
