With nearly two decades of experience in national security and U.S.-China relations, Craig Singleton is an expert in geopolitical strategy and East Asian affairs. As a former U.S. diplomat, he worked on critical national security issues related to China, North Korea and the Indo-Pacific, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies like AI and China’s military-civil fusion strategy. He currently serves as a senior fellow and the senior director for the China Program at the nonpartisan Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Singleton holds a master of international policy degree from the Bush School at Texas A&M University and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Florida. He is also a lecturer at Stanford University, where he teaches courses on Chinese grand strategy.
