As a senior professional staff member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC), Gupta covers the East Asia and Pacific region, international economic policy, as well as dual-use export controls for Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks. In this role, he serves as the primary policy advisor on China for HFAC Democrats. Previously, Gupta served as an associate director with the Asia Society Policy Institute, where he coordinated policy initiatives, programming and research on U.S. policy toward the Indo-Pacific region. He has also worked at the Natural Resources Defense Council and Skadden Arps LLP. Gupta is a recipient of the Robertson Foundation for Government Fellowship. He received a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
