About
Program at its CoreChina's importance for the Pacific Century goes far beyond U.S.-China relations, although that relationship is fundamental for both countries.
The 21st Century China Program builds on cutting edge research, an engaged community, and a commitment to educating future leaders.
Build a great research foundation about the broad intersection of China with global dynamics
IR/PS China scholars are at the top of their fields; now we have to take our research leadership to the next level in its scope and depth. Our intellectual edge will be a springboard to leadership discussions about China locally and globally.
Build a strong community base through dialogue on engagement with China
The insights of our community engaged with China are as important as the findings of our scholars in a time of change. We wish to be a facilitator and hub for this dialogue on China for the greater San Diego region from Orange County through Baja and eastwards to Arizona.
Build upon the existing strengths of IR/PS to educate the next generation of leaders to guide the U.S.- China relationship
The Program will enable IR/PS to attract "the best and the brightest" in China, Asia, and the U.S. by providing fellowships, internships, and opportunities for joint programming.
